  Tour Itinerary:  
 
Day 1, Sun: Istanbul.
Your representative waits to greet you as you land in Istanbul. After transferring to your hotel, there will be a welcome briefing. Overnight in Istanbul.
 
 
Day 2, Mon: Istanbul.
Your day begins with a guided tour exploring the ancient city of Istanbul with highlights including the magnificent Topkapi Palace, the main residence of the Ottoman Sultans, then walk across to the Byzantine Hippodrome that was once the scene of chariot races. In the afternoon we visit Saint Sophia Basilica, the historic seat of the Byzantine church, built in 537 AD and now a museum whose mosaics, stained glass windows and decorated domes have been crafted to create an environment of breathtaking beauty. A short walk through the gardens will take us to the Blue Mosque of the Sultan Ahmet 1 built in 1616 that is famous for unequalled ceramic tiles. Overnight in Istanbul (B)
 
 
Day 3, Tue: Pergamum - Thyatira - Smyrna (Izmir).
Early this morning you will be transferred back to Istanbul airport for a flight (not included) to Izmir. On arrival in Izmir you will be met and travel to Pergamum (Rev. 2:12-17) and Aesculapiums for a visit before continuing on to Thyatira (Rev. 2:18-29; Acts 16:14) a city of artisans' guilds during St. Paul's time. We will return to Izmir (Smyrna, Rev 2:8-11) Homer's birthplace on the Aegean Coast to check in to our hotel. Overnight in Izmir (B, D)
 
 
Day 4, Wed: Ephesus - St. Mary's House - Izmir.
This morning we explore Ephesus one of the most magnificent excavations in the world with its expansive synthesis of Greco-Roman and Christian remains (Ephesians; Rev 1:11: 2:1-7: Acts 18:19-28: 19:1-4). Ephesus was the home of St. Paul between 54 and 57 AD. Afterwards visit the humble chapel on the site of the little house where the Virgin Mary is believed to have spent her last days. Despite many controversies, the Vatican has officially sanctioned the site for pilgrimage. Dinner and overnight in Izmir (B, D)
 
 
Day 5, Thu: Sardis - Philadelphia - Pamukkale.
After breakfast we visit Sardis with its beautiful gymnasium and marble paved synagogue before continuing on to Philadelphia (Rev 3:7-13), a favourite city of Paul and John. We then drive through the fertile valleys to Pamukkale, known as the "cotton castle" for its white limestone cascades. On arrival enjoy the thermal pools at our hotel. Overnight in Pamukkale (B, D)
 
 
Day 6, Fri: Hierapolis - Laodicea - Izmir.
This morning visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hierapolis, known for its hot springs and well-preserved ruins. This was Philip the Evangelist's home. We will tour the extensive necropolis, churches and baths then stop at nearby Laodicea (Rev. 3:14-22: Col 2:1: 4:13-16) before returning back to Izmir for dinner and an overnight. (B, D)
 
 
Day 7, Sat: Cappadocia.
This morning you will be transferred back to Izmir airport for a flight (not included) to Kayseri for a full day touring the "moon-like" topography and unique landscapes of Cappadocia. Goreme with its Chapels carved by early Christians and decorated with frescoes dating from the 6th and 10th century is an unforgettable experience. Visit the underground city of Kaymakli where thousands of early Christians lived concealed from persecutors in eight story complexes of subterranean dwellings. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia (B, D)
 
 
Day 8, Sun: Cappadocia - Istanbul.
This morning visit the pottery making village of Avanos and the Byzantine monastic complex of Zelve. This afternoon you will be transferred back to Kayseri Airport for a flight (not included) to Istanbul. On arrival you will be met and transferred to a nearby airport hotel. Overnight in Istanbul (B, D)
 
 
Day 9, Mon: Istanbul - Return.
Your escort will transfer you to the airport for the flight home. (B)
