DAY 1: Arrive Negombo
Arrive at the Bandaranayake International airport and transfer to the fishing village of Negombo to check in at hotel.
Negombo, set amid lush groves of coconut palms, breathes the spirit of the sea. The town itself shows its interesting colonial past with many historical buildings situated in and around the city limits which was used by the Portuguese, Dutch and British as main export harbour for cinnamon and is dominantly influenced by the Catholic Church which gave it the nick name 'Little Rome'.
To rejuvenate yourselves and overcome jet lag we recommend you submersing yourself in auyrveda therapy. Each guest would be entitled to consult with the ayurvedic doctor and attain the best treatment for up to 2.5 hours. As you will notice the hotel Ayurveda Pavilions is serious about its medical treatments and they even offer early morning yoga with the guidance of a local guru in your own pavilion (optional). In particular the food offered is customized according to one's therapy. The executive chef will share his learning with you.
Depending on your flight arrival we suggest dropping by early morning to the fish auction to hear the cacophony of sounds. If possible and seeking the guidance of the chef, select your very own fish which will be prepared for your next meal.

DAY 2: Colombo – Hills of Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast proceed to the cool retreat of Nuwara Eliya and enroute visit the mystical waterfalls.
Take a picturesque drive through the paddy fields, the plains, to the hills covered with tea plantations. Along the way there are a number of places well worth a visit including riverside town Kitulgala where the adventurous guests would enjoy a white water rafting experience over 7 km on beginner level rapids, followed by lunch. At this same venue you would be able to visit the location where the all-time World War movie classic Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed. As you ascend, you will approach the mystical waterfalls of the Devon and St. Claire estates.
Also known as the "City of Lights" and "Little England", Nuwara Eliya was the favourite hill station of the British who tried to create Nuwara Eliya into a typical English Village. The old brick Post office, the 18 hole golf course, race course etc., all remind you of 'England'. Blessed with salubrious climate, breathtaking views of valleys, meadows, mountains and greenery surrounding Lake Gregory; it's hard to imagine that Nuwara Eliya is only 180 Km from the hot and humid Colombo. The areas around Nuwara Eliya also provide the main output of tea in Sri Lanka. A trip to the highlands of Sri Lanka is never complete without witnessing the age-old traditional tea plucking and sipping a cup of "Ceylon Tea". Visitors to Nuwara Eliya can also taste the freshly plucked strawberries and purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.
Enjoy high tea at the Hill Club, country house with it's hunting pictures, mounted hunting trophies and more. This 130-year-old granite mansion, set on an extensive manicured lawn, was established as an exclusive social and events club in 1876 by a homesick British coffee planter, and offered an escape for British estate managers from a somewhat lonely planter's lifestyle.
At your residence, the St. Andrew's Hotel, seeking the advice of the chef you are welcome to select your fresh vegetables from the hotel's farm which will be prepared for dinner.

Having arrived in Kandy take a city tour of Kandy including visit Temple of the Tooth Relic, Royal Botanical Gardens before driving a short while to Hunasgiriya to check into the hotel
Kandy - (the Sacred City of Kandy) - is a city in the centre of Sri Lanka. It lies in the midst of hills of rare vegetal species. The Kandy Valley crosses an area of tropical plantations. The monumental ensemble of Kandy is an example of construction that associates the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Tooth. It was one of a series of temples built in the places where the relic, the actual palladium of the Sinhalese monarchy, was brought following the various relocations of the capital city. The Temple of the Tooth, the palace complex and the holy city of Kandy are associated with the history of the dissemination of one of the most important religions of humanity, Buddhism. The Temple of Kandy is the product of the last peregrination of the relic of the tooth of Lord Buddha and the testimony of a cult which continues to be practiced today. Kandy has now grown out to encompass Peradeniya, home to the Botanical Gardens..

DAY 6: Sigiriya – Anuradhapura – Sigiriya
Following a scrumptious breakfast take an excursion to the Ancient City of Anuradhapura.
Anuradhapura the ancient capital of Sri Lanka from the 05th Century B.C. to the end of the 10th Century A.D. was the most celebrated of Sri Lanka's ancient ruined cities. The city's greatest treasures are its dagobas constructed of bricks and are hemispherical in shape. The city's most renowned relic is the sacred Bo Tree, which is said to have grown from a branch of the tree under which the Buddha gained Enlightenment. It was planted 2250 years ago and is the oldest historically authenticated tree in the world. In fact, Anuradhapura is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Freshen up at hotel after an eventful day.
Having explored the outdoors, set off to the nearby hotel Heritance Kandalama to dine within a cave (for a minimum 12 guests). Setting a surreal ambiance blending the old world charm with the new, guests have the opportunity to dine in style in a natural cave, illuminated by fire torches reminiscent of a by gone era. Enjoy a lazy morning before taking an excursion to the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa and a wildlife safari at Minneriya.
Hear tales of how the kings court was laid out at the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Another important royal capital, more recent than Anuradhapura, with its well-preserved 12th century ruins & impressive stone culture recalls an inspired past. Although nearly 1000 years old, the monuments are arranged in a reasonably compact garden setting and their development is easier to follow. To add some excitement, why not hop on a bicycle and follow your guide as you whizz through from site to site.
Over lunch we recommend taking journeying into the heart of Hiriwaduna for a Sri Lankan village experience.
An unpaved gravel path winds its way through the village of Hiriwaduna. A visitor to the area may happen upon a jumble of objects by the side of the road—an overturned plate and the remains of a structure made out of a banana tree—once an offering to appease Evil Spirits (optional).
Find a swiftly rushing stream of cold, clear water by grasping the low hanging branches around you, cross the reservoir by Oruwa , its long, narrow shape gliding effortlessly on the water, visit a Chena cultivation, where in the shade of a tree house of mud and thatched palm leaves you will survey Hiriwaduna.
Experience the pleasures of village life as it awakens to a new day. A farmer making his way to the rice field with a mamoty on his shoulder. Next, experience the thrill of a wildlife safari to the Minneriya National Park
